PhD graphene solutions and materials at Bordeaux

PhD grant (ANR) on solutions and materials based on graphene at the Research Center Paul Pascal (UPR CNRS, Bordeaux). Resp: Alain Penicaud

Graphene or graphite basal plane, long considered a virtual object, has acquired a real existence since the work of Geim et al. in 2004. Recently, were obtained at CRPP solutions of graphene (Vall├ęs & Penicaud, patent 2007, Valles et al. Jacs 2008, Catheline et al. Chem. Commun. 2011). In the framework of the ANR GRAAL, in collaboration with the University of Bologna (Prof. Paolucci) and CEMES (Toulouse, Dr. Monthioux), solutions of graphite intercalation compounds (GICs) of diiferent stages (1, 2, 3 ...) will be prepared and studied. Composite cryogels and cryogels will be prepared from these solutions and characterized (structure and properties). The performance of the materials will be tested, including their supercapacity. Start Date: 09/01/2011 or 01.10. 2011. Duration three years. guaranteed financing. Profile: Chemical or physical chemist. write to:
