Control of the nanostructure in coatings prepared by magnetron sputtering

Research topics:

Modification of the magnetron sputtering methodology to introduce nanostructures in thin films and coatings (nano-voids, nano-spheres)

Setting up of a new magnetron sputtering chamber

Microstructural, chemical and optical characterization of the coatings

Profile:

PhD in Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science Engineering
Good experience in the magnetron sputtering methodology, vacuum and plasma treatment technology
Experience on microstructural and chemical characterization of thin films and coatings
Good command in English.

Information about contract:

12 months contract. Possible incorporation date from 1^st March 2012 to 1^st June 2012 at latest.

In addition to this contract the candidate can also apply to an open call for a three year post-doctoral position, although at least 12 months are always available.
