Brief CV
Volkmar Eichhorn studied physics at the University of Oldenburg. He worked on photorefractive crystals and wrote his diploma thesis about electronic speckle pattern interferometry in March 2005. Since April 2005 he is employed as research associate at the Division Microrobotics and Control Engineering, University of Oldenburg. He received a doctor’s degree for his work on “Nanorobotic handling and characterization of carbon nanotubes inside the scanning electron microscope” in February 2011. Volkmar Eichhorn was/is the technical leader of the European research projects: NANORAC, NanoHand, FIBLYS and NanoBits. His group is working on the analysis, manipulation, and processing of different nanomaterials such as nanotubes, nanowires, nanoparticles and graphene.
