PhD Thesis in Sciences (1996) focused on the synthesis of polymer electrolytes based on lithium and lanthanide salts.and characterization of electrical and termal properties

During the last years research work was focused in the following reseach areas:
Synthesis of metal (Au andAg) and semiconductor (CdS, CdSe, ZnS, and alloy and core-shell cadmium and zinc based chacolgenides) nanoparticles using colloidal chemistry methods.
Synthesis, by sol-gel method, of organic-imorganic gel composites with embedded metal and semiconductor nanoparticles.
Characterization of spectroscopic (UV-vis and FTIR absorption and photololuminescence), electrochemical (electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry) and termal (DSC, TGA and DMA) properties of functionalized OIH gel composites
Caracterization of surface properties (metal adsorption kinetics and pHpzc) of Carbon Naofibres and carbon nanotubes functionalized by chemical methods.
Application of Atomic Absoprtion Spectroscopy to analytical determinations of heavy metals in diferente matrices (residula water, synthesized nanoparticles, etc).
