Brief CV
Anthony R Flambard studied chemistry with physiology & biochemistry at the University of Reading in the UK and received his doctorate in surface chemistry and catalysis in 1982. Following actinide research at the Free University of Berlin (1992 – 1987), he joined the Chemistry Information Centre (CIC) in Berlin (1987) where his interests widened to include the electronic storage and retrieval of scientific information. Whilst at the CIC he was Editor-in-Chief of a large editorial office and was permanent member of the BMBF’s Specialist Information Delegation to the Russian Federation.
In 2005, Dr Flambard moved to PtJ where his position as senior scientist includes the administration of national and international R&D activities in chemistry, materials and nanotechnology. Currently, he is also the Chair of the Materials, Physics and Nanosciences (MPNS) Domain of COST, Europe’s oldest intergovernmental framework for cooperation in science and technology.
His interests include materials and energy research, nanoscience, environmental health and safety and international R&D management.
