Brief CV
Dr Nikos Tagmatarchis is a senior researcher at the Theoretical and Physical Chemical Institute, at the National Hellenic Research Foundation, in Athens, Greece. His research interests fall in the area of functionalization of carbon-based nanostructured materials with photo- and/or electro-active moieties, donor-acceptor hybrids potentially suitable for photovoltaics, photoelectrochemical cells, field-effect-transistors (FETs) and in molecular electronics. Another research area Dr. N. Tagmatarchis is active, involves the catalysis with metal nanoparticles immobilized onto the skeleton of carbon nanotubes. In addition, he is interested on the modification of CNTs with biologically active molecules, such as peptides, proteins, drugs and genes for biotechnological applications. The research experience of Dr. N. Tagmatarchis is reflected on the high number of publications (>110), invited presentations on international conferences and workshops, and the citations (>2.300) his work has received.
